YSM Media Policy

The purpose of this Policy is to ensure the comfort and safety of community members, volunteers and staff as they participate in programs and services at and provided by The Yonge Street Mission (“YSM”), and compliance with applicable laws. 

Personal Social Media Policy

These guidelines provide information to assist in ensuring compliance with legislation and to supplement existing YSM policies and directives that may apply when an employee uses social media in his or her personal life.

Personal social media accounts may include well-known channels, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc., but extends to any site where an employee may be posting content.

YSM Corporate Social Media Accounts Policy

An official social media account is an account designated and approved to represent Yonge Street Mission (YSM). Such channels are created and maintained by YSM.

An official social media account:

  • Is part of an approved communications, program or service delivery plan

  • Is maintained by YSM staff and resources

  • Represents YSM programs or services

  • Formally represents YSM using the official visual identity (images, logo, etc.), naming conventions, account verification and official URLs
